I held my breath a little
one more day under water
breathing just enough
to be
the waves keep lapping
against my neck
cold
hypothermic
uncomfortable
just enough to feel
like my off kilter
is on
like my life is right
this is when I can see the letters
drawn in tiny type
underneath my lids
and everything will be alright
