he loved to watch
more than one game
on the
television

the hazel in his eyes had
tiny brown flecks
they glittered when
he talked
sports

always wearing the correct
ballcap in support
of his favorite
team

Why is the sun making
me miss him
today

I can hear his voice
yelling my mom's name
he was
spoiled

she catered to him
when he was well and
when his limbs said
goodbye

he was her best friend
he was always
difficult

he was her best friend
even when he was drunk
when he was young and
hateful

when he swam across the
river in spring and it took
him forever to come
up

when he left bruises and
she had to take divorce drive
I-5 North

car full of crying kids
offering shotgun shells
full of tears in
forgiveness

to the fisherman on the bank
his ball cap keeping the sun
from his eyes and his bald
head from turning
red

Revival of the Blogger Blog

Wow, I haven't been here for such a long time.

I lashed out
hateful and vicious
cruel
stupid

All I could think of
How could I be so unkind
my heart is tender
how could I be so selfish

and I droned on
fear holding my hand
when he is important
everything
